Luz del Carmen Ruiz Rodriguez Named Managing Director of Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, Ignacio Mendoza Valenzuela to Head Up New Grand Velas Los Cabos
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (May 9, 2016) - Eduardo Vela Ruiz, founder and president of Mexico's "Beyond All Inclusive, Beyond All Compare" Velas Resorts, announces Luz (Lucy) del Carmen Ruiz Rodriguez will take over as Managing Director of the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. She replaces Ignacio Mendoza Valenzuela who will act as opening Managing Director of Grand Velas Los Cabos. Opening in late 2016, Grand Velas Los Cabos ups the ante for the Grand Velas product with special wine features, commitment to the arts, dramatic ocean views, hard to top wellness suites and more. The appointments are effective immediately.

Ruiz has over 25 years of hotel operation experience specializing in high-end hotels. She most recently served as Gerente Geral de Experiencia for Grupo Rio Quente's seven hotels, 18 restaurants, 15 bars and a food service production center in Brazil. Prior to, she also held positions throughout Mexico with VillaGroup, Avalon Resorts, Hoteles Presidente, Paraiso de la Bonita, Hilton, Ritz Carlton and Fiesta Americana.
Immediately prior to Mendoza's time as Managing Director of Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, he acted as Resident Manager at Marquis Los Cabos. In addition, he has led teams at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic, Hotel Presidente InterContinental Cancun and Guadalajara and Le Méridien Apollo in Amsterdam, Holland.
