Reviewer Comment: We planned our vacation the week after Thanksgiving which was perfect if you like less crowds. The staff was extremely accommodating given the fact that we changed our room twice. I am petite and could not see over the lush bougainvillea flowers covering the balcony and my view of the ocean. Our third and best room choice was full ocean view and in line with the gorgeous sunset. We were there for our 25th anniversary and there would be champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and lovely messages waiting in our room. I spent every morning at the gym where they had excellent classes and just right amount of equipment needed. The infinity pool was gorgeous and where we spent most of our day catered to by the friendly staff. You could enjoy the music by the pool bar or seek a quieter area and still enjoy the view of the ocean. We met some people that have been coming to Gran Velas since it opened, that shows how special this place is because to them it is like coming home. The French, Italian , and Mexican restaurants were all topnotch. It was worth having to work out everyday so I could enjoy the cuisine. Only on one cloudy day we took a cab into Puerto Vallarta and strolled around. We were happy hanging at the resort for some much needed R&R. Thank you Gran Velas for taking good care of us.
