Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit invites travelers to learn more about the famous Mexican celebration Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a hotel experience that includes a theatrical dinner show, costume party, themed kids' activities and more. The Day of the Dead Experience is available October 30th through November 2nd only.
A highlight of the Experience, guests will cruise across Banderas Bay to the torch-lit beaches of Las Caletas for the Rhythms of the Night theatrical native show and dinner. At the AAA Five Diamond Resort, travelers will also be able to observe additional associated traditions including Pan de Muertos (Mexican Bread of the Dead) and ofrendas - alters for the deceased where family members honor past loved ones with an offering of sugar skulls, marigolds, food and other gifts to the dearly departed. In addition, the Kids' Club adds special themed activities to its offerings from painting sugar skulls to a special showing of the Day of the Dead animated movie, The Book of Life. The Day of the Dead Experience also includes airport transportation to and from the hotel, 10% off at the resort boutique and a $50 USD spa credit.
Nightly rates start at $390 per person per night based on double occupancy. Staying in the same suite as their parents, children ages 5 to 16 are $80 USD per child, per night, up to two. Three night minimum stay required.
