Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit offers organic coffee and volcanic spa treatments

Winter travelers seeking spa indulgences have a new option with the latest offering from Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, which is a member of the Leading Spas of the World. While Charlotte flyers used to enjoy a nonstop flight on US Airways to Puerto Vallarta, the offering has been curtailed to a one-stop flight via various airline hubs.

Still, travel to Mexico is one of Charlotte's biggest international markets hosting dozens of flights per week. No doubt, many of those flyers are bound for Puerto Vallarta where the Riviera Nayarit area commandeers the most attention as a luxury destination for travelers.

The showcase lodging for travelers that prefer all-inclusive accommodations is Grand Velas, which positions itself as a property that focuses on high-end luxury without shying away from groups. And its ability to host conferences without pushing away individuals is impressive.

This lovely resort can do so thanks to a variety of noteworthy promotions including its impressive spa menu boasting unique massage and beauty treatments involving candle wax and sea shells, white tea, tequila creams, coffee and chocolate, deep river stones and natural volcanic glass, aromatherapy oils and more.

A variety of gourmet organic treatments are also offered, including the coffee and chocolate-filled Xocolatl Treatment with anti-depressant and energetic effects, beginning with a stimulating exfoliation of coffee beans and chocolate body mask, followed by a bitter chocolate face mask to encourage the release of endorphins.

There's also the Tequila Cream Massage that allows guests to experience the color, flavor and aroma of Mexico. The treatment seduces the sense and brings well-being to the body and subtle sensations of the palate through a tasting of coffee, vanilla or chocolate tequila creams.

Prior to pampering themselves with an organic treatment, guests can go through the spa's Water Journey, a hydrotherapy ritual calming the mind and body before treatment. Guided by a spa valet, the Water Journey includes a revitalizing shower, herbal steam and sauna, a dip in the two-temperature lagoon, time in the Jacuzzi, and a final multi-jet Swiss shower.

End the ritual in the relaxation area with natural fruit-flavored waters, whole grain cookies and fresh fruit. Other spa offerings include separate treatment menus for children and teenagers and the ability to have a massage treatment on the beach.

US Airways and American offer connecting itineraries from Charlotte to Puerto Vallarta as do Delta and United.
